Kimpton Limited have secured a contract for work on the new £6.6m Merseyside Police and Fire Services Joint Command Centre.
The development project which was approved by Merseyside’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Jane Kennedy, back in March, involves a combination of a new 2 storey extension, refurbishment of the existing building and an extension to the heritage centre. The development will house the joint call handling and dispatch facility for both the Police and Fire Services.
“We’re delighted that we have been chosen to work on this project with Kier Northern” commented Chris Livesley, Business Development Manager at Kimpton. “We’ll be responsible for the design and installation of the mechanical and electrical services at the Command Centre which will include a new VRF air conditioning system, the design and installation of a full IT infrastructure, including two new server rooms, the design and installation of a new LV electrical infrastructure incorporating Generator and UPS back up for essential supplies, and a misting sprinkler system to the whole building along with fire suppression systems for the IT Server rooms.”
“We’ve built our reputation working on similar projects” added Chris. “Our work with both Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire Fire Authorities coupled with our expertise in designing and building highly energy efficient data centres, has enabled us to design and implement the use of energy efficient technologies within this project.”
Wirral based Kimpton Limited, who have built their reputation as experts within the renewable energy sector, have their sights set on further growth over the next 12 months with an anticipated turnover of £14million expected to be realised. “This is an exciting time for the Company” added Chris. “The Joint Command Centre is good news for Kimpton in what is our 50th year working across Merseyside and North West.”

The installation will improve the comfort conditions in several areas of the school servicing both pupils and staff. We are very experienced in undertaking projects in these conditions were flexibility and careful scheduling is key and this was crucial to our appointment on this contract.
