As one of the North Wests leading building and environmental services companies, we are pleased to announce the company has secured its second project after the completion of the first project for a leading car manufacturer at its assembly plant on Merseyside.
We were commissioned to provide heating, ventilation and temperature control services within an extension consisting of the installation of gas pipes, high level duct work to provide fresh air and a gas fired air handling unit interlocked to energy saving shutter doors. The creation of an air curtain helped reduce heating costs and energy consumption by maintaining internal air temperatures. Kimpton were also responsible for the installation of a vehicle exhaust extraction system designed to improve the internal air quality.
The project was extremely time-critical with less than a 6 week timeframe for completion. Working in collaboration with the clients architect and other specialist suppliers, BIM was adopted to reduce the risk of clashes and improve the level of coordination of the works. Taking the architects BIM model we were able to detail all of the mechanical installation works and provide the client with 3D views of the installation prior to any works commencing, giving him a visual interpretation of our proposed design.
The successful completion of the first project lead to us being recommended by the client to carry out the design, supply and installation of an air conditioning system to be installed in a new office facility as part of a refurbishment within an existing production area.
Working with one of the clients preferred main contractors to improve the facilities for the logistics team, time and co-ordination will once again be critical to the successful delivery of the project within a live production area.
Chris Livesley, business development manager said “the award of this second contract was great news for Kimpton; the team all worked very hard in securing and completing the first project and provides yet another platform to support our continued growth in the automotive sector. The investment the client has made on Merseyside is very important for the local economy and we are proud to be a part of that investment and growth”«Back to News
