Today is the warmest day of the year so far which means that if you are stuck indoors, perhaps in an office or factory, you will probably be switching on your air conditioning. If you haven’t used the cooling system in a while, you may find that it doesn’t work as well as it should.
Here are 3 ways to tell if you have a problem.
It isn’t cooling you down
The main purpose of your air conditioning is obviously to cool you down when it’s warm. If it isn’t managing to do this effectively, there could be something wrong with the system itself. The cause of this could be due to many things, from furniture in the way of the vents to a fault with the unit. It is always better to get advice from an expert if you think that there is something wrong with your air conditioning as they will know the best way to identify and resolve the problem.
It’s really noisy
Does your air conditioning make noises when it’s turned on? It should never be so loud that it disrupts your employees and if it does, you should probably be concerned. Over time, dust, dirt and other things can get trapped in the system, which will stop it from working effectively. You may need to have your it cleaned, repaired or even replaced, depending on how old it is and what is actually causing the issue.
Leaking is one of the most obvious signs of a problem with your air conditioning, meaning that this is something that you should definitely look out for. Within the system, there will be special refrigerants that work to produce the cooling effect. These can sometimes become damaged or faulty, causing moisture to leak from the unit. It is absolutely essential that you act quickly when you notice this as it can not only damage your property but can also be a serious risk you your health.
