Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps
Heating represents over half of all
energy used in the UK, with the principal energy resources being
fossil fuels.
With the cost of these fuels rising
and their environmental impact increasing, alternative heating
systems are now being incorporated into the construction
process.

Kimpton provides in-depth expertise on designing and installing
such systems including air and ground source heat pumps.
Ground source heat pumps use the geothermal energy stored
naturally within the earth and groundwater, whilst air source
utilise the energy in the surrounding air.
Both systems provide heat which is ideal for use in underfloor
heating systems.

|
There are a number of heat pump systems available which can be
tailored to suit the heating requirements, as well as the site and
budget constraints of any building (existing or new), utlilising,
for example, ground loops, slinkies, bore holes (open and closed)
or air as the source of energy - all utilising non ozone depleting
refrigerants (which now include CO2).

Air and Ground source heat pumps require electricity to operate,
but efficiently produce potentially up to three to five times as
much heat energy per unit of electricity consumed.
We have a wealth of experience in numerous projects which have
utilised air as well as ground source heat pump technology and
therefore can advise on the best solution for incorporating heat
pumps into your project.
