Kimpton, have once again proven our training credentials with
apprentice Luke Robinson winning the North West's Heating &
Ventilating Installer of the Year at this year's HVCA regional
awards.
The 19-year-old joined Kimpton in July 2007 and has learned
hands-on skills whilst working on some major projects such as
Liverpool One and the Gladstone Conservatory. Prior to winning the
HVCA award Luke won the 2009 BSS Rose Bowl for Heating and
Ventilating Fitting Craft, awarded by Liverpool Community
College.
"Kimpton provides an unparalleled training ground for young
apprentices due to the expertise passed down by employees that have
been with Kimpton for decades, and the quality of the projects
afforded by the reputation of the company", commented managing
director, Richard Kimpton. "It is of no surprise to me that Luke
has won this award, he is a model employee and a good fit for the
Kimpton work ethic".
Kimpton has one of the most successful apprenticeship schemes of
any engineering firm in the North West, taking on new apprentices
each year and investing heavily in ongoing staff training and
development programmes. As Luke's latest success exemplifies,
it is a policy that continues to reap rewards in terms of industry
award success but also, crucially, in maintaining a stable and
highly skilled workforce.
