Case Study: Burnett Street

The Client

An established Leeds-based construction firm, Allerton Construction has wide ranging experience of projects across the education, healthcare, industrial and commercial sectors. Using its in-house design & build expertise, the company decided to diversify into residential development with two projects in Bradford and Leeds.

The Challenge

Each of the two projects, Burnett Street in Bradford and Park View in Leeds, involved conversion of an existing building, a four-storey warehouse and a former Conservative club, respectively.

To take full advantage of the market for luxury apartments in these two fashionable cities, Allerton needed to ensure that the apartments were completed to the very highest standards with a quality specification and finish. The company also set a challenging schedule for completion of each project to enable it to recoup the returns on its investment.

The Solution

Leveraging the company’s considerable experience of luxury apartment schemes. Kimpton Building Services was awarded the contract for all electrical and plumbing fit out on both projects, totalling 47 apartments.

The fit out included installation of all sanitaryware, including drainage and ventilation. A panel heating system and a 'Mega Flow', mains pressure hot water system were installed in both properties. Kimpton was also responsible for installation of all safety and security features, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, door entry systems and smoke detectors.
